Director's Cut (the "Extension") adds personal notes to your Letterboxd watchlist. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your choices.

Data We Collect

• Letterboxd username (read from the page while you are logged in)
• Film identifier (the Letterboxd film URL slug)
• Note text you enter
• Timestamps for when notes are created/updated

If you enable Secure Mode, a hashed version of your secret key is stored on the backend. The raw key is stored locally in your browser's extension storage.

How We Use Data

• Save and retrieve your notes
• Show your notes on film pages and your watchlist
• Verify signed requests when Secure Mode is enabled

We do not sell your data.

Data Sharing

Your data is not shared with third parties. It is sent only to the Director's Cut backend service to store and retrieve notes.

Data Storage and Retention

Notes are stored until you delete them. You can delete notes by clearing the text on a film page (the note will be removed).

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. In Secure Mode, requests include an HMAC signature derived from your secret key, and only the hashed key is stored on the backend.

Your Choices

• You can disable the Extension at any time
• You can delete notes by removing the note text
• You can remove stored data by uninstalling the Extension and clearing server-side notes
